WELFARE

The Welfare services of the Legion are split into 6 sections:

Poppy People - Volunteers are a vital part of our organisation - We urgently need more Poppy People as Collectors and Caseworkers who provide emotional support and or practical assistance in the local area.

Poppy Breaks - We have four Poppy Break Centres which cater for those recovering from illness or bereavement, the centres are located in some of the country's most popular and traditional seaside resorts.

Poppy Homes - We have seven Poppy homes around the country and a large part of the welfare work is providing short and long-term care for ex-service people and their dependants at these locations.

Poppy Advice - We can offer advice on war pensions, compensation claims and we also give careers advice to those leaving the service.

Poppy Funds - We provide support to service and ex-service people and their dependants through our immediate need scheme. We provide funds in temporary crisis, including homelessness. We can even assist with loans for property repairs and starting up small businesses.

Poppy Travel - Our travel branch offers pilgrimages and tours to war cemeteries, memorials and battlefields worldwide, with each designed as a relaxing and informative holiday.
